Danesfort, Paeroa
31 December 1902

Dear Partridge

I enclose letter I have this moment received from Wilkinson re Otorohanga Maoris(.) I think we shall have to try Rotorua. Te Heuheu apparently is at Kihikihi but his people are scattered about near Taupo and the expense would be too great going there. It cannot be done in any case in one act, any where, everything must be arranged and the day definitely fixed.

Wire me if you think Rotorua is the best, and wire a £5, and away I will go forthwith.

In haste
Yours faithfully
James Mackay

(over)
In five years time I fear it will be impossible to manage a war dance, at all. So much for these degenerate days. O tempora, o mores!!!

Yours faithfully
James Mackay

Happy and prosperous New Year to yourself and family.
