Who made this website?

This website was made by the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki in partnership with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, the Māori Language Commission who provided transcriptions and translations of the Maori Visitors' Book. Funding for the website was achieved through a grant from the Department of Internal Affairs' Community Partnership Fund.

We are currently accepting portraits from public collections. If you are a public institution and would like to include your portraits on this website please contact us.

 

Can I buy a print of one of these portraits?

Reproductions of artworks are handled by the institution that the artwork belongs to. For all portraits in the collection of Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki please contact reproductions@aucklandartgallery.com. Subject to iwi consultation.

I'd like to sell a print or copy of a Lindauer painting, what is its likely value and where do I sell it?

Reproductions of artworks are not generally sold by dealer galleries or auction houses as as they usually have little monetary value, often being produced in great numbers. However, they are appreciated for other reasons.
