Akuhata, 30 1901  Ko au ko Nika kua kite  To ku kai nga / Matahuru  Today I saw the ancestors of chiefly lineage of olden times, and the sacred tohunga and indeed King Tāwhiao.
30 - 1901  Matena Tukarawa  Rangiriri  Today I have seen the Māori chiefs of both islands, Aotearoa and Te Waipounamu I have much love for you all you who have left for that other place, greetings to you all.
Akuhata, 30 - 1901  Rev. Hone Peri Paerata  Motuiti Foxton  I am from Ngāti Tūwharetoa and I heard the statement of Te Heuheu Tūkino and his amazement in relation to the spiritual chiefs present in physical form in this house. When I came here to view, the only emotion I felt was love in this room. So I say to you the spiritual guardians who are living here greetings to you in the love of Jesus Christ.
Hepetema 3 1901  Wiremu Hare Pomare, Emere Pomare  Pouto  We are both from Ngāti Kahungungu and we came to see the images. So we have seen our ancestors Ihaka Whānga and Renata Kawepō. The strongest emotion we feel in our hearts is love. Therefore, greetings to the spiritual ancestors within the blessings of Our Lord.
Hepetema 3 1901  Kawhi P. Kena  Pouto  I have come to this house I have seen the images of the ancestors My heart is full of love for them I also greet their guardians May God bless you.

Tena rawa atu koe Te Pikikotuku. Kai te tika tau. Aroha mai. While the comment is incorrect -as you have rightly pointed out- it is an historic comment recorded in the pukapuka manuhiri in 1902. I will attach a note to our records for Rewi Manga Maniapoto, noting your korero.

I note in gallery visitors book a comment about Tupotahi being a brother to Manga Maniapoto. see following extract...... "Mei 24 (1902) Tupotahi Tukorehu (memo - brother of Rewi Manga Maniapoto) Kihikihi " For your information, Tupotahi and Manga were in fact cousins not brothers. Their grandfathers were half brothers....
